I’m currently reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishguro, which turns out is not what I thought it was about at all. This novel goes back in time as the main character, Kathy, remembers growing up at a private school secluded from the outside world. Growing up, they were taught to believe different values and principles than they normally would have in the outside world.
So far, I have only gotten as far as Kathy’s adolescence in childhood, but I’ve heard about what’s to come.
When I’m finished with this (hopefully this week), there are some other books I’ve got on my list:
- The Lake of Dreams by Kim Edwards
- Minding Frankie by Maeve Binchy
- Nineteen Minutes by Jodie Picoult and
- The Suicide Effect by L.J. Sellers
