Exploring Niagara Falls State Park

Last week my family and I took a trip to Niagara Falls. We rented a house on New York, and checked out the scenery on both the New York and Canadian sides of the falls throughout the week.

Niagara Falls State Park has miles and miles of scenic trails that go through the gorge, right near the falls and down past the whirlpool created by the rapids.

The first day of vacation, we planned a hike to see the falls, up close and personal. We packed our bags, some lunches and were on our way.

The path we followed took us right up to the American Falls as well as the Horseshoe Falls, one of the Natural Wonders of the World. Here’s what we saw:

Closer to the end of the trip, my Dad and I did a hike through the gorge, hiking right down to the edge of the river near Whirlpool State Park. The views were spectacular, and the hike can definitely be deemed my favorite part of the trip.

If you’re planning your next trip, Niagara Falls is definitely a must-see.
