How can one person inspire others? What does it take to truly be able to have an inspirational effect on someone in your life?
At least once a day I say to friends and coworkers, usually sarcastically, “look at your life, look at your choices.” I’m quoting this video. Today, though, I actually realized that I do need to look at my life, and look at my choices, and realized that I need to make a change.
Here’s what I know:
I used to be the bubbly, fun and colorful girl at work. I used to love helping others, teaching people new things, and get excited about even the simplest tasks.
Lately, I’m grumpy. I’m letting small things get to me. I’ve become that person that has better things to do than little tasks that actually would take me three minutes to complete if I just did them.
And now, I’m making a pact to myself to not let little things get in the way of changing the world (no, seriously). I’m going to brush off comments that don’t matter. I’m going to prioritize the important things in life.
And most importantly, I’m going to strive to inspire others to do the same. To love what they do. To love being with the people around them.
“Smile and the world smiles with you.”
