Day six of going gluten-free and I’m starting to have some hardcore carb cravings. Last night it was so bad that I got dressed in the middle of the night to go to the store and get the ingredients to whip together these gluten free mozzarella sticks. And guess what? They were actually pretty good.
Here’s the recipe:
- 3 oz., Reduced Fat String Cheese (I purchased a bag of reduced fat, skim milk cheese sticks and cut them in half)
- 2 tbsp(s), Glutino, Gluten Free Panko Breadcrumbs
- 2 Tbsp, All-Purpose Flour (I used rice flour)
- Pinch of garlic salt
Drizzle a little bit of oil in to a skillet and heat it on medium heat.
Dip string cheese, cut in half, in to egg, then roll it in a mixture of gluten free bread crumbs and flour.
Brown the edges of the dipped sticks in the heated oil. Then, turn down to a simmer and let the cheese melt inside.
I topped them with a little bit of garlic salt to add flavor (but I’m also a garlic addict).
